Implications for „witnesses to hope“
“Africa is the dark continent, not only dark because of the color of skins but dark because of the lack of any hopeful future! But that does not tell the whole story of Africa and is by no means a truthful representation of the live, vitality, joy, hard work, dedication, ingenuity, resilience, hope and faith of the majority of the African people.”
For sure, Africa’s past and present situation is complex – we want to introduce you an established Institution, which is committed to Africa and to all African People.
The Jesuit Centre for Theological Reflection (JCTR) is a research, education and advocacy team that promotes study and action on issues linking Christian Faith and social justice in Zambia and Malawi. Based on a faith-inspired perspective the center is working on a critical understanding of current issues guided by the Church's Social Teaching that emphasizes dignity in community. Their mission is to generate activities for the promotion of the fullness of human life through research, education, advocacy and consultation. The Centre engages in research on key social issues like cost of living, social implications of debt servicing, accessibility of healthcare and education, and integrity of local democracy.
This lecture analyzes the current major problems and prospects, based on the applied research of the JCTR-Experts.
